"I've previously improved the ride on a 2008 Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 TDCi by changing from the supplied 205/55/R16 wheels to 195/65/R15s. I've just done the same change with a 2010 Focus C-Max Zetec 1.6, swapping from 16-inch alloys (that came with the car) to 15-inch steel wheels.
The cabin is quiet at speed, the Sony branded stereo is fantastic. 80ish mph is around 2200 rpm, the engine is quiet, really good. Hill start assist is really useful in town as is the auto start stop, which is not intrusive at all. The car can be a little jumpy at lower speeds, but its easy to get used to.
Ford may have killed it off, but a used Mondeo is still well worth considering if you want a quiet and comfortable executive car. Comfortable ride. Engaging to drive. Huge boot. Cheap-feeling
